MIhh Kelley grew to young womanhood
in Bishopville and graduated
from the high school here with the
class of 1922.
After completing a business course
at Winthrop college, she remained
with that institution for a time as
secretary in the office of Dr. D. B.
Johnson.
Miss Kelley resigned this position
to go to Washington to become secretary
to the president of the National
Woman's Democratic Club of Washington,
D. C., Mrs. J. Borden Harrlman,
who recently was appointed Minister
to Norway. Three years later
she severed this connection to accept
a responsible position with the
Washington branch of the Boeing Air
Company, and remained with that organization
until her last illness. It
[Was during one of several cross country
vacation trips arranged through
| the courtesy of this company that
Miss Kelley stopped briefly at Chicago
where diagnosis indicated she contracted
her fatal illness.
Funeral services were held on Saturday
afternoon, April IT, at Gawler's
Chapel, 1756 Pennsylvania avenue. Interment
private, at Cedar Hills cemetery,
Washington, D. C.?Dee County
Messenger.
