OMINOUS SIGN
Accord I UK to u rumor from Austria,
Edward, l)ukc of Windsor, and Mrs.
Wullia-^lmpsou have had a little tilt
regarding their marriage plans. The
duke, it seems, wants a simple, even
secret, wedding;' Mi's. Simpson a stylish
one, in keeping with her future
rank as royal duchess.
Mrs. Simpson's desire may bo simply
that of any woman for a colorful
wodding, one she can treasure in
memory in years to come, llut if her .
wish is prompted by another motive,
the Incident seems to hold the germ
of a threat to her future hhppiness
and that of the duke.
The development may mean that
the duke wants no more of the pomp
that has been his since birth; whereas
the future duchess may continue
to demand it, as her newly acquired
right. If this is the case, other such
clashes in the future may cool the
love that cost a kingdom.
