between the hours of three
and six o'clock there will bo held at
the Hobklrk Inn an exhibition of the
works of this famous young Boston
artist. The public Is Invited to attend.
In addition to the portraits,
Mr. l>erurond will also exhibit for the
first time in Camden some of his most
interesting studies of still life. Camden
is indeed fortunate to have this
opportunity to see the works of such
an outstanding artist.

Mrs. Alfred Mcl^eod entertained
members of her card club Thursday
afternoon at her home and invited
Mrs Brevard Boykln as an additional
guest. The two high score prizes
were won by Mrs. A. C. McKatn and
Miss Katherine Murchlson. The
hostess served a tea cqurse before
the bridge, games began.

Miss Olive Nettles wus hostess at
brldgo Monday evening, when she entertained
at three tables of contract.

awarded Miss Virginia Hullo.
Honored on Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Heard, who
celebrated the twenty fifth anniversary
of their wedding Thursday, were
honored with surprise party which
was given liy Mrs. Beard's sister,
Miss Charlotte Boy kin. The Beard
cabin at Hermitage Lake, where the
party was hold, was very festive in
its Yuletide decorations of red berries
and Christmas greens. The hoar
oreos' places at the table were marked
by a miniature bride and bridegroom.

Mrs. W. S. Rainsford has returned
to Camden for the winter season and
is occupying her home on north Mill

Tuesday night In honor of the roach
and football squad of the Camden
high school which won the class I)
state championship this year.
The one hundred guests who were 1
present, including, besides tiie Uouorees,
town council, the trustees of
the school and representative citizens
vere seated at two long banquet tables
which were deeor<aicd in the
football colors of gold and black j
Hla< k howls of golden calendula were
planed at Intervals along the festive
board and Interspersed with lighted
gold tupers in black holders. Serving
as maids were Misses lthetta Iilukeney,
Elsie Red fear n. Jane llalsall, Ca- ?
rolyn Nicholson, Kulherlue Myers,
Dorothy Creed, Ann Clarkson and Susun
Team. .
During the bunquet an entertaining
program of informal tulks was pre- .
sented, with Mayor Osborne acting as .
toastmaster. J. G. Richards, Jr., superintendent
of the city scliools, J
awarded block C's to twenty-two
members of the squad and paid his
tribute to tl>c> cooperation afforded
the team by the citizens of Camden
J. M. Villepigye introduced tho outgoing
and incoming captains?Elmer
Nolan and Eddie Howell, respectively,
and C. T. lialdwlu, the cheer
leaders. The singing of the "Alma
Mater" concluded the evening's program.
Miss Little Complimented
One of the prettiest parties in the
series being given for Miss (Catherine
Little, whose wedding to Elliott Sheorn
will be an interesting event of
the holiday season, was that given by
Miss Jean Harris, who Is to be a
bridesmaid in the wedding. The Harris
home on Fair street was very
tastefully decorated in bronze snapdragons
aud, roses. After the guests
had been welcomed, each one was Invited
to draw from a large bouquet
of flowers u rosebud, to which was attached
her tally card. When all the
tallies had been luken a corsage of
Talisman roses was left for the honor
guest. Her chair was marked by a
bunch of calla lilies tied with a white
tulle bow and at her place at tho table
was a miniature bride, bridegroom
and preacher. Pretty score
prizes were awarded Mrs. Lee Little,
mother of the bride-to-be, Mrs, F. M.
Wooten, Jr., and Miss Susan Kennedy.
To the honoree the hostess presented
a gift for her trousseau.
After bridge a bird supper was
served. Following this Miss Little
was presented with a corsage of orange
blossoips to which was attached
a white satin ribbon. This led theN
bride-to-be to a beautifully decorated
table in the dining room, where an
assortment of packages awaited her.
These proved to be gifts of linen
brought by the guests.
Mrs. U. N. Myers and Mrs. L. H.
Truesdale went to Atlanta this past
week for a visit. They will be accompanied
home by Nettles Myers,
who is a student at Georgia Military
Institute.
Miss Savage Weds Christmas Eve
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Savage, of
Camden, announce the engagement of
their daughter, Frances Adele, to Jean
Louis Moyse, of. England. The wedding
will take place December 24 In
Paris, FTance.
