Miss Porter Honored I A aeries of lowly parties are being given in honor of Miss Willie Porter, whose marriage to Willluiu Haskell Tiller, of Muyesville, will take place July Sth. Wednesday afternoon of last week she was given a miscellaneous shower by Miss Louise McCoy. Mrs. Eva Irby and Mrs, Arthur Stokes at the homo of Mrs. McCoy's aunt at Lukoviow. A sweet course was served and after the prizes were j awarded the bride-elert reeeived tt shower of many useful and beautiful gifts, Miss Porter was again honored on Thursday evening with a bridge party and linen shower at which Miss Molly Moseley and Mrs. Julian (Iraham were- Joint hostesses, entertaining at the home of Mrs. W. It. Khoden on Lyttleton street. A color scheme of pink and green was used in the flowers decorating the. house, the tally cards and also in the delicious salad course which was served before the game. The high score prize was won by Mrs. Glen wood Mitchell, who also received a parting gift from the hostesses. The floating prize was won by Mrs. Murdoch Johnson, the low score prize by Mrs. : Arthur Stokes and the4 consolation prize by Mrs. Rhodon. After the game Miss Porter received u gift from tlie hostesses and many lovely pieces of linen from her friends. Miss Emily Goodale complimented Miss Porter Saturday afternoon with u lingerie shower and bridge party. A large pink satin bow marked the place of the honor guest and a tiny silver bell marked the place of each player. Mrs, H. L. Clyburn won the high score prize and Mrs. W. II.' Campbell won tlie consolation prize. In addition to a beautiful gift from the hostess, the bride-elect received numerous lovely gifts for her trous-j seau. Young Couple Honored Mrs. John Villoplgue, Mrs. J. G.I Richards, Jr., and Mrs. Jack Whitaker, Jr., entertained in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Fischer Rlack Tuesday evening with an unusually pretty dinner party which-they gave at the W'hituker home on Laurens Court. Lovely vases of shasta daisies and lilies decorated the reception hall, the sitting room,1 and the den, a color scheme of green and white being used in all of the rooms. Covers were laid for twenty-six guests at. three long tables, two of which were in the dining room, and one was on the sun porch. Lace eloths covered the tables which were beautifully appointed with silver and glass and in the center of each was a silver bowl of shasta daisies. white roses. Queen Anne's lace, and babys breath. The tables were lighted by white candles held in silver candlesticks and the center pieces were outlined with a tracery of maiden hair fern. A three coures dinner was served.. Entertain at Bridge Mrs. Charles DeLoaehe and Mrs. Paul Duffer were joint hostesses at a lovely bridge party which they gave FTiday evening at their home on Lyttleton street. Included in their guests was a party of friends who motored over from Rethune for the affair. Lovely vases of garden flowers decorated the dining room and living room where supper was served at individual tables before the game. Score prizes were won by Mrs. F. D. Goodale, who made the highest score, Miss Mary Goodale and Miss Stella Rethune, of Rethune, winning the other prizes. The hostesses also presented a gift to Miss Katherine Truesdale, popular bride-elect of Rethune. Twenty guests were invited to this delightful party. The hostesses were assisted in entertaining by their mother, Mrs. John It. Goodale. Mrs. Ernest Wooten and son Ernest Woolen are visiting friends' in Richmond. Dr. and Mrs. Maurice Clarke have returned from a motor trip to Marquette. Mich., and Milwaukee. Wis. Returning to Camden with I)i\ and Mrs. Clarke, were their two children. She carried a large old fashioned bouquet of 'gardenias and lilies of the valley. The brides only attendant was her maid of honor, Miss I any Klrklaml, of Washington and Camden. She wore a dress of blue niousseline de sole and carried a targe bouquet of Rapture roses. The bridegroom and his best man. Robert Hayes, of Washington, wore houttoniers of gardenias. 'those present at the weddtng included the parents of the bride and bridegroom and their families and. a few close friends. After a delightfully informal reception Mr. and Mrs. Muck left for their wedding trip, the bride changing for traveling to u Molynetix model in two shades of blue with a blue hat und accessories to match. Mm. Mack, a petite blonde, is the attractive daughter of Mr. and Mis. Makcney Zemp: She graduated from Converse College In 11)34 and later traveled extensively in the west and abroad. While at Converse she was a member of the Kpailon Delta Sorority and for the past year shu bus been making her home In Washington. Mr. Mack is the hop of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mack, of Bryson City. N. C. He graduated from the University of North Carolina with the class of 11)33, his fraternity there being Beta 1 heta Ui. He is now an electrical engineer in the Potomac Electric Power Company in Washington and upon their return from their wedding trip, he and Ids bride will have an apartment at 2330 Que street. Mr. and Mrs. Mack stopped in Cainden tor two days before returning to Washington and while here Monday evening were given a large reception by Mr. and Mrp, Zemp at their home on rair street. Legion Auxiliary Met The last meeting of the year of the American legion Auxiliary, was held at the home of Mrs. Hamilton Osborne with Mrs. Osborne and Mrs. Marvin Reasonover as hostesses. Mrs. Jack Whltaker. Jr., president of the Auxiliary, presided, and after the meeting delicious punch, cake. and sandwiches were served. Entertains at Bridge Mrs. Miles Montgomery was hostess at a lovely bridge party which she gave for the members of her club on Friday afternoon. Vases of mixed flowers were arranged in the long living room and reception hail and after the game a salad course and cake were served. Mrs. William Nettles. Jr. made the afternoon's high score. Mr. and Mrs. Goodale Hosts Mr and Mrs. W. L. Goodale entertained delightfully Wednesday evening, when they invited twenty guests for supper and bridge.
