Commercial Class Has Outing
Friday evening the students of the
Cantmercial class under Miss Katherine
Murchison and a few guests motored
to Miss Murchisou's cabin about
eight miles front town for an enjoyable
outing. A picnic supper of roasted
weiniers, sandwiches and drinks
was served and dancing featured the
evening's entertainment. Besides the
members of the commercial class
others at the party were Miss Jane
ClarkBon, Jack Halsall, Jerome Hoffer.
Hay Moore, Roy Sheorn and Fred
Sheheen.
Neighborhood Bridge Club
Mrs. Floyd Beaver, of Greenville,
was a special guest of the Neighborhood
bridge club when it met with
Mrs. T. T,ee Little Wednesday afternoon
at Iter home on Mill street. Other
visitors who substituted for club
members were: Mrs. Hubert Wilson
ami Mrs. F. D. Goodale Prizes were
presented Mrs. R. E. Stevenson and
,Mrs. S W. VanLandingham for tirst
and second high scores, while Mrs.
J. L. Williford cut the consolat'on.
Before the card games Mrs. Little
served an ice course.
Play at Auditorium
To display the work, of the Camden
High Srhool Economics department
in clothing, a play was given in the
school auditorium under the leadership
of Mtss Rachael O'Danlel. This
play, which was voted a great success,
was written and directed by
Miss Jean Plyler, a ninth grade pupil.
Among those taking parts were
Misses Dorothy Creed. Jolyn Hall,
Myrtle Williams, Marguerite Ingram.
Core Scarborough. Olive McGulrt, Dally
Jackson, Helen Stogner, Grace
Rhoden, Neta Kirkland, Lavada Parker,
Margaret Mayer, Rhetta McLeod
and Rena Broome.
Death Near Rembert
J. A. Yates, aged f>2, died at his
home near Rembert Wednesday night.
Mr. Yates had been in failing health
for some time, but his death caine
unexpectedly and was a shock to his
many friends.
He is survived by his widow and !
five children, three brothers. C. B

Death Of Mrs. Young

for Mrs. W. J. Young, who died
May 12. following an illness of several
weeks, were conducted tit in o'clock
Wednesday from DeKalb church by
Rev. CI. D. G ul ledge. She was in her
84th year and widow of (lie late W. J.
Young. She was a loyal, faithful
member of DeKalb church and her
many friends and relatives will mourn
her loss. Four living children survive
