Found Guilty Of
Payroll Robbery

Thurman, former I^am-aster county
deputy sheriff, wns convicted late today
of conspiracy in the $1K,000
Springs mill payroll robbery near here I
last December and was sentenced to
serve eight years in the state ponl-!
tentiary. i
Manuel Mfller, who pleaded guilty,
at the beginning of the trial early lathe
week, was sentenced to eiuht
years also. James Miller a brother
of Manuel, and l.erov Holiday, of
Charlotte, were sentenced to serve

Triplets Doing Well
The three little colored babies
which arrived at the home of the
l'atfurson's, a colored family who reside
a couple of miles west of town,
are reported to be doing well. The
mother*# improving but still quite
sick. It is said that on their arrival
one of the babies weighed four
pounds, another four and one-half
, pounds and the third five pounds.?
