Guest Of Her Daughter
Mrs. W. H. Henderson, of Wilmington,
N. C., who is the house guest
of her daughter, Mrs. C. J. Shannon,
4th, was guest of honor at the bridge
party that Miss Charlotte Shannon ,
gave Wednesday afternoon at her
home on Chesnut street. Miss Shannon's
guest list included members of
her bridge club and a number of ad-|
actional players. Delightful refresh-j

of the guests. The hostess presented

Mrs. Trotter Entertains
Mrs. Kirkland Trotter entertained
the piembers of her card club Thursday
morning at her home on Greene
street. There were three tables of
club members, Mrs. Withers Trotter
playing for the hostess, and an extra
table of visitors. Playing at the guest
table were Mrs. Barnwell Clarkson,
Mrs. J. T. Hay, Mrs. George Wittkowsky
and Miss Molly Anderson. Prize
for high score at that table was won
by Mrs. Hay. Among the club members
Mrs. J. M. Villeplgue held the
morning's high score. Miss Marie
Kirkland and her house guest, Mrs.
A. B. Ward, of Norfolk, Va., joined
the party for lunch which was served
at 12:30.

Miss Virginia Alsop, of Georgetown,
who will be maid of honor in Miss
Bowen's wedding. Mrs. Mackey wore
light blue embroidered organdie with
a shoulder corsage of Joanna Hill
roses. Miss Bowen's dress was pow-i
der blue moussellne de sole and her'
corsage, Rapture roses Alexander
wore white organdie with a
shoulder cortege of Joanna Hill roses
and Miss Alsop was dressed In shell
pink crepe and her corsage was Briarcliff
roses.
Mrs. R. E. Stevenson welcomed the
guests at the door and in the rooms
where they were received lovely garden
flowers were used, gladioli,
Queen Anne's lace, Shasta daisies and !
sweet peas.
Mrs. J. L. Williford Invited guesta
into the diulng room where a motif of
green and white was used. The table
was overlaid with a lace cloth
and had as its centerpiece a silver
bow] of white gardenias, on either
side of which were silver candelabra
holding white tapers. Silver compotes
held green and white mints.
Presiding at the punch bowls wore
Mrs. Mortimer Muller and Mrs. Charlie
Zemp. Others assisting in the dining
room were Mrs. John T. Mickey,
Sr., Miss Jean Harris, Miss Catherine

EXCHANGE CLUB NOTES
The Exchange Club of Camden held
its regular weekly luncheon at the
Camden Hotel on Tuesday of this
week. A number of the members of
the local Rotary Club were guests of
different members of the club. Exchangite
Barnwell Caston brought as
i his guest Reverend Mack Rivers who
Is conducting a series of services at
the Camden Baptist church.
The Club accepted an invitation to
meet with the Camden Rotary Club
at its weekly meeting on June 27.
Exchangite Clarkson Rhame reported
on the proposal to secure a municipal
swimming pool for the city. The
proposition seems to be well under
way and the Club Is sponsoring the
movement.

Special Committee." reported
that It has been proposed that this
club, Instead of putting this on alone,
Join with Rev. Mr. Cralghlll and the
Rotary Club in sponsoring a week's
! picnic for underprivileged boys at
I*ake Shamokin, and the club voted
unanimously to do this.

during the ceremony. "The Bridal

ushers, and lighted the candles before
the ceremony.

The bridesmaids, Misses Virginia

Orangeburg. Christine Willis of Hock
Hill and Murcella Blanton, sister of
the bride, wore lovely dresses of
green inousueline de sole, made with
fitted bodices finished with ruffles
about the neck. The full corded skirts
flured into short trains. They wore
green satin sandals and carried Roosevelt
roses.
Miss Olive Nettles of Camden, maid
of honor, wore u gown of yellow
moussellne de sole fashioned with a
high neck and a rippled collar that
flowed gracefully in the back to the
waistline. The full circular skirt ended
with a slight train In the back.
Her sandals were the shade of her
I dress, and she carried Talisman roses,
j Mrs A Howard Blanton. mother of
I the bride, and matron of honor, wore
ja lovely gown of green silk lace featilling
a train with white accessories.
Her flowers were yellow roses.
Katherine Sheorn, sister of the
bridegroom, and Ernestine Willis, the
flower girls, wore dainty organdy
frocks having long skirts "made of
ruffles that began at the high waistlines
and small ruffles finished the
drop shoulder necks. Their flowers
were nosegays of roses and garden
flowers.
I A. Howard Blanton, Jr., brother of
thb bride, was the ring bearer.
The bride, a lovely brunet, who was
given in marriage by her father. Arthur
Howard Blanton, was beautiful
in her mother's wedding gown of
Ivory crepe that had a deep bertha I
of real lace, and pearls, beaded Into
ti florul design, trimmed the bodice
and outlined the neck, the hemline
and the lengthy train. The Veil, which
was also the bride's mother wedding
veil, was styled off-the-face and held
in place with a roll of tulle that formed
a halo. She carried Joanna Hill
roses showered" with valley lilies. The
bride's only ornament was a rare
pearl necklace which is a family heirloom.
The bridegroom entered a side alHie
with his brother, DeLoache Sheorn,
who was his best man.

Mr. and Mrs. VV. F. Frioleau greeted

wedding party received in the
living room. Mr. and Mrs. Sloan McGee
invited the guests Into the gift
room, where the many wedding presents
of the couple were displayed,
and after registering in the bride's
book, kept by Misses Annie Ehrlich
and Billie Cole, they went Into the
garden. Here Mr. and Mrs. D. L.
Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Itiley and
Mrs. Susie Prioleau received, and ice
cream and cake were served by a
group of friends of the bride.
Mrs. Sheorn, one. of Columbia's
loveliest and most charming girls,
was graduated Monday from Wlnthrop
college, where she was a popular
member of the student body and a
member of the Kappa Epsllon club.
Her mother is the former Miss Marcella
Willis of Rock Hill, and her
great-great-grandfather on her maternal
side was Governor James H.
Hammond of South Carolina. Since
the announcement of her engagement
several weeks ago, Mrs. Sheorn has
been honored with a long series of
delightful social affairs both In Columbia
and Camden. Her many friends
in this city regret exceedingly that
her marriage takes her elsewhere.
Mr. Sheorn, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Willis Sheorn of Camden, is associated
in business with his father. He is
a member of one of South Carolina's
oldest families and is prominently
connected on both sides. Mr. Sheorn
Is popular with a wide circle of
friends.
During the evening the couple left
for a wedding trip and after a week
will be at home on Pair street in
Camden. For traveling the bride was
attired in a chic suit of navy blue

activities In behalf of the boys and
girls of Kour-II club work.
Sam Kuresh, who had charge of the
arrangements for the dinner, presented
each lady present with a dainty
gift, and a large number of lovely
prizes were druwn for and won by
many of the ladies present.
The feature of the meeting was a
mock triul. Mayor Osborne, who was
culled upon to welcome the ladies,
made u disparaging remark about J,
I)e1vey Creed, one of the members.
Mr. Creed demanded trial and the
president appointed Murdoch Johnson
