Escaped Convict Captured
Karl Withers, escaped convict who
broke away from the Dan cuts ler coun
ty chain gang camp Sunday night
was captured near Osceola early
Tuesday morning at a house whore
the convicts wife was making her
home. Sheriff Black mon and his
force surrounded the house about
2:110 a. m. and Withers surrpudc; >d

on the porch, Sheriff Morris said.
A short time later Miller's wife is

to secure bloodhounds. Failing in

to one year's imprisonment. Sheriff
> stimates that Miller has cost Barnwell
county $1,000. Miller is a World
war veteran and draws a substantial
pension trom the federal government.
