Deputy Moo:e and Juiler Itek stud that thr sheriff was nut himself on Saturday and that fie was not as cheerful as u-ual but that they did not think anything of it until they received the >ud news thiit the sheriff had passed away. Mr. Dabney was very energetic itnd wus working under high pressure at all times. He had high blood pressure for several years and when he took over the office he was warned that the duties might fie too exacting but Mr. Dubney was of the opinion that his health had improved since he took over the duties of that office as he was out in the open much of the time. Deceased is survived by his wife and six children, Andrew, William, Mrs. Stacy fluey, Ned, Luke and Dorothy. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at "J:JU at the Calvary Bupt ist church. Coroner W. V. Hcgler automatically been me sheriff on the death of Mr. Dabney and will continue in this capacity until the governor gives a commission to a successor to Mr. Dabney. A successor will fie named by the governor soon in Jill probability and In* will be mimed after the legislative delegation makes a recommendation. H. j l.aughtnigo at *J> ot the church and I the Masons will have charge of the services at the grave. Interment will be in the West Side cemetery. The Parr Funeral Homo will be in charge. Mr. Dabney was a life long resident of this county and was 54 years of age. A legion of friends were made by him during his life time and it has often been said that before he began his duties as sheriff had no enemies. One of the largest funerals ever held in this county will probably take place on Tuesday.?I^ancaster News.
