Southern Farmers'
Hopes Are Boosted
New Orleans, July 10.^-The hope
that 15-cent cotton would once more
enrich Southern farmers grew apace
today as the market continued to
climb under the influence of yesterday's
bullish government acreage re- ;
port. . 0
Future prices soared almost %2 a
bale yesterday, and added another
dollar today, bringing the price near
the 13-cent level.
Spot cotton showed a corresponding
rise of more than $3, with middling
at $12.60 cents per pound.
Buying or. the exchange was brisker
than in many weeks today and in
the late trading October options went
as high ai 12.60 and December to
12 75. or 22 to 23 points up from
yesterday's close.
