L Visitors Honored \ j Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stephenson of "Atlanta, w.lujv are visiting Mrs. Stephenson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. r L DePass, were honor guests at a party Friday evening when Mr. and , Mrs. Lambert DePass entertained a dozen guests at bridge. Prizes for high scores were won by Mr. and Mrs. Nettles Lindsay, and Mr. Lindsay alio last held the floating prize. After t tempting salad course was served the guests attended a dance at the Armory. Guest of Afr?, deLoach 'Mrs. S*rr? do Loach of High Shoals, N. 0., and a dozen of her friends were the guests of Mrs, John de1/oach and Miss Faith deLoach when they entertained at 'bridge Thursday morning at the deLoach home on Laurens Court. Bouquets of zinnias were used in the living room and they made a lovely background for the card tables, To the guest of honor the hostess presented a dainty ! gitt and Mrs. Del/Oache Shoorn, a recent bride, who shared honors with Mrs. deLoach was also presented a gift. Miss Caroline Richardson received the first prize and Mrs. Rurchell Moore held the floating prize. After tho bridge games a salad course was served. ? 9 Gave "Vagabond" Party ^ Rill DeLoache and Doug Wooten were hosts at a delightful "vagabond" party Friday evening at the home of Mr. and tyra. )V. R.? DeLoacflfc. The party was given for Miss Sarah Lane, of Columbia, who is the house guest of Miss Mary Zemp. The twelve guests enjoyed a merry hunt for the various articles listed. Delightful refreshments were served after the party returned. The prize winners were Miss Sarah Lane, Miss Betty Whitaker and Jack Villepigue. Those present besides the hosts and honor guest were Misses Betty Whitaker, Mary Zemp, Elsie Claire Redfearn, Jane Halsall and Catherine Boyd, Jack Villepigue, Jack Richards, Jack Rhnme and John Wooten. Camp Boys Enjoyed Dance. a The dunce given by the City of Camden and the Merchants' Association of the city Friday night was held in the. Ariiypy, due to the storm, that evening. It was an enjoyable affair, a large crowd of townspeople were out to make the boys welcome and those attending, enjoyed the dance thoroughly. Good music was furnished by a nine-piece orchestra. Refreshments were served. Around two hundred and forty guests came to the home-coming week at the C. C. C. camp and the boys had a great time showing the home folks and the sweethearts all the sights around camp. Many events were put on for the visitors also that proved interesting and showed that the boys have time for recreation as well as work. Party For Visitorh Miss Anne Scoggans, of Warrenton, N. C., and Miaa Catherine Mayfield, of Norlina, the guests of Mr. and Mn?. W, 3, Mayfteld, wore honored Saturday afternoon when Miaa Peggy Pitta assembled a dozen friends for contract bridge. A color motif of lavender and pink was used in the decorations and party appointments. After the bridge games the honor guests were each presented a bottle of perfume. Miss "fceny " j Lung won the top score prize, which was dusting powder and i>ath salts. The consolation, a pair of stockings, was won by Miss Kuth DoLoacho, Late in the afternoon a very refreshing iced coijrrse was served. There were four tables of contract in which Miss Charlotte Boykin received high score prize and Mrs. Mortimer Boykin held the floating prize. They both presented these to the honor guest who was also presented with an attractive gift. 0 Was Club Hostess Mrs. R. E. Stevenson, Miss Cornelia Aldret and Mrs. W. O.-Hay were special guests at the meeting of the Thursday contract club, which was held Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. J. G. Richards, Jr., as hostess. At the end of the games Mrs/W. O. Wallace entertained with a pretty lawn party at her home on Broad street Thursday evening from 8 to 11 honoring her granddaughter, Miss Clifton Strohecker, of Charleston. The guests, thirty in number, enjoyed an evening of games and contests. J. Kirklant'. A dozen friends spent the morning sewing and chatting together. At noon Mrs. Whitaker, assisted by her daughter, Anne, served sandwiches, cookies and iced tea. The bridge tables were arranged amid a colorful setting of summer flowers. A refreshirig ice course was served after the bridge games. To the honor guest the hostess presented a lovely pair of silk hose and to her also went two packs of cards which wafl the high score prize. Mrs. J. B. K. McDermott,- a recent bride. After a busy sewing hour which increased the bride's kitchen supplies, the guests were entertained with a contest. High score was won by Mrs. John R. Ratterec, second high went to Mrs. N. B. Workman and Miss Elizabeth Thomas. Miss Sadie Craig entertained with a humorous reading called "Husbands."
