Mrs. Topper Hostess At her h<nno at Mulberry Plantation 'Mrs. Kinby Tuppor graciously entertained the members of the Friday contract cluib. A special guest of the clu/b was Mrs. O, H. Yatee, Jr. A sweet Course was nerved by the hostess after Wo hours of contract games in which IMrs. Willis Boykin won tho high score prize. ^ Tuesday Bridge Club iMr. and - 'Mrs. J. iM. Met With Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Tho meeting of the San Souci ifcntraot club which "was held on Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Wilson was a most enjoyable one. In addition to the members the following invited guests were present: Mrs. R'hetta Halsall, Mrs. M. MoCann, Mr. an<l Mrs. Lawrence Hot sill, Mr. "and Mrs. Leon Schlosburg and George Potter. Early(flKimm r llowers made a pretty setting for the four tables of players and in the bridge games Mrs. M. McCann and Lawrence Retsill won the high score prizes. The floating prize went to Mr*. Lawrence Ik'tsill. Punch, cakes and sandwiches Ayere served by the hostess. Entertain at Lake Shamokin The student and graduating nurses of the Camden hospital, the Camden doctors and their wives were honor guests at a delightful party given by Mr. and Mrs. Sam Evans Tuesday evening at Lake Shamokin. Many of the sixty guests present enjoyed a swim, after which a delicious picnic supper was served. Following the supper games and dantdng were enjoyed 'til a late hour. At The Little Home The '.Sub-Deb Club entertained their friends with another dance Friday evening at Sarsrfield, the beautiful home of 'Mr. and Mrs. T. Lee Little. Music was again furnished by the Kentucky Aces and dancing was enjoyed from nine 'til one. Thursday Bridge Club The regular meeting of the Thursw day contract club was held last Week with 'Mrs. Alfred McLeod as hostess. Tables for the club members and an extra one for guests were arranged in an attractive setting of summer flowers. The extra guest list included: IMrs. (Carroll DesfChaimps, Mrs. B. O. ' 1 t Lad Has Birthday Party Led 'Marshall was given a lovely birthday party by bis mother, Mrs. B. W. Marshall, in honor of his fifth birthday Monday, (May 5th, at their home in Lake View Terrace. Twelve of his little friends were present to enjoy the games. Afterwards delicious ice cream and cake were served. Grace Church Services The Rev. F. H. The public is cordially invited to attend these services. Wednesday Bridge Club The Wednesday morning bridge club had a -most enjoyable meeting this week -With Mrs. A. 8. Llewellyn as hostess. Gueste (besides club members were: (Mrs. F. M. Zemp, Mrs. Jack Whitaker, Jr., Mrs. W. H. Harris, Mrs. D. A. Boykin and Mrs. J. B. Zemp. To Mrs. Jack Whitaker, Jr., the hostess presented two decks of cards as a prize for the (highest score among' the guests. A delightful twocourse luncheon was served at 1 X. The veterans hospital at Columbia, under a recent ruling, will receive more patients. At present there are 120 patients in the 304-bed capacity plant. The largest number of patients at any time was 276. The personnel of the hospital has been reduced to 35. C., and member, of the graduating class of 11)33 of Brenau College Conservatory, is returning home this week for the summer vacation. He is a member of many clubs and is on the executive committee of the National Horse * Show Association. Morgan N. Buchlaw, alias John C. Buck, has been arrested at Los Angeles, Cal., and will be taken back to Allentown, N. J., to face a charge of steading $58,000 from a bank of j which he was a teller. He told the | officer who arrested him that he was at the end of the golden trail of j pleasure and was ready to "face the i music." An attractive blond girl was with him when arrested, listed on the ship on which he was a- passenger as "Mrs. Buck." There were no wedding attendants and only the members of the two immediate famines and a few very close friends were present. Mrs. Todd is an honor graduate of Winthrop college, class of 1028. She has been teaching at Camden and f>rior to that taught music at Piedmont. She is a sister of George A. Club Met at rTerraces The Charlotte Thompson Home Demonstration Cluib met last Thursday afternoon with Mrs. F. M. Mellette ait Charlotte Thompson school. The meeting wae held in the terraced gardens, so lovely wibh flowers and evergreens at this season of the year. Miss Sadie Craig, home demonstration agent of the county, showed the club members how to make many summer drinks, from home-grown ingredients. A contest, "The Wedding of the Flowers," caused much fun and Miss Lillian Smith was the kicky winner of the prize. The hostess served delightful refreshments. Honored With Stag Dinner On last Thursday evening a group of friends of DeLoache Sheorn gave a stag dinner at The Pines in his honor. .Several out-of-town guests were also in attendance.
