Young Negro Dies
Of Poisoning
Otis Barnes, a young negro who
had been employed as a roustabout
st the Lancaster cotton mills, died
early Friday morning as a result of
what appeared to be toxic poisoning
duo to a mixture of liquor and
food. Dr, . Brown, the county physician
is of the opinion that tho negro
died as the result of drinking
liquor after eating watermelon. It
was said that this negro* had access
to watermelon as this was served
where he ute supper, although none
testified that they saw him eat any
melon.
Dr. Brown said that the mixture of
watermelon and liquor is extremely
dangerous and the presumption is
that this is what caused his death.
Barnes was said to have been drinking
on Thursday nigjU and was on
his way home' a little past midnight
when he was overeomo on Elm street
and stopped at the home of a friend.
It was said that he appeared to be

DON'T TOLERATE
EXCESS BODY POISONS
(EVERYBODY HAS THEM)
There is an old saying that nobody ever is completely well. One
of the reasons for this, and for the unaccountable fpains, headaches,
backaches, frequent colds, and any number of human ailments, is that
the body is filled with excess poikons in the vital organs, the stomach,
the liver, the kidneys, and the bowels, -s , ^
Of course unless you were kept in a laboratory under constant observation
and supervision, and all factors affecting your health carefully
regulated, it would be almost an impossibility to keep you in absolute
perfect health at all times. Most everybody has an excess of
body poisons. But everybody would be in {much better health?would
have more vitality and ambition, and would feel many times better all ?
the time if they kept themselves rid of these poisons, ^
Only those who take constant particular care of themselves are
free from the reactions of these poisons, which sometimes result in
rheumatism, chronic constipation, appendicitis, liver and kidney ailments,
loss of weight, weakness, and rundown condition. Thousands
of these "health-particular" people have testified that they have found
' in MALVA the one medicine that rids them of these inconsistencies and
inefficiencies and keeps their bodies in running order and their health j
above the border line of safety. The statement made below is only one %
of thousands of those that prove MALVA'S merit. DePASS' DRUG
STORE sells MALVA. Why not try it TODAY!
WAS EXTREMELY RUN-DOWN
"I was extremely run-down and nervous. My body was full of
poison. 1 had Neuritis pains, my appetite was gone. 1 lost weight. 1
had no ambition?and every indication of a terribly neglected physical
condition was evident throughout my system. 1 took only two bottlep
of MALVA when my condition began to improve. To date I have
taken eight bottles. My troubles have disappeared entirely, and 1 feel
like an entirely new man. Anybody can put their faith in a medicine
like MALVA."?Alfred Graham, 19 East Mitchell Avenue, Cincinnati.
