Clarkson entertained th? neighborhood bridge club at her home on Fair street, Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. J. L. Williford won [high score and Mrs. Joe Thomas cut consolation, The room where tho tables were placed were decorated in Christmas, greens and red candles. Substitutes for the afternoon were Mjss Leila Shannon and Mrs. W. J. Mayfleld. After the game tho hostess served delicious sandwiches, cake and cofFee. Celebrated Birthday. On Monday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Creed entertained in honor of their daughter, Marjorie Creed's, tenth birthday. Christmas decorations were used. After many games w^re enjoyed the little guests were invited into the diinng room where the table held a birthday cake with -ten lighted candles. Little favors kwith names marked on each were used. Ice cream and cake were served. Please bring your dues or mail them in to the treasurer if you are unable to be present. ' :-7~' Met With Mrs. West/ The Midway Home Demonstration Club, held its regular meeting December 18, with Mrs. A. A. West; with twenty members and -five visitors present, and as our agent, Miss Sadie Craijjr, was absent, we had a social meeting. A Christmas message was red by Mrs. H. C. MoCoy, after which our president made, an interesting talk on Christmas. Then we wefS served witHV delicious refreshments by four girls. Miss Margaret Goodale is here from North Carolina Women's College, Greensboro, N. C., to spend tho holidays with, her mother, Mrs. John R. Miss Beatrice McCarroll left last week for Washington where she will v\sit relatives. C. T. Baldwin is on a visit to his parents in Orangeburg for two weeks. David Kohn, of Greenville, is here to spend Christmas at the home of his sister, Mrs. Gus Hirseh. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wellborn and son, Sam Gatewood Wellborn, of New Orleans, are guests at the home of Mrs. Wellborn's mother, Mrs. V. W. Clark for Christinas. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Moore, of Rock Hill, are here to spend the holidays with the latter's parents, Mr,, and^ Mrs. C. C. Whitaker. Mr. and Mrs^-C. P. DuBose will have as guests this week, Mr. and Mrs. RichaH Singleton, of Columbia, and John DuBose, of Orangeburg. Gatewood Workman is visiting his sister, Mrs. C. H. The rooms were bright with the yuletide decorations of red and green and lovely Christmas flowers. Dinner was served after which the games were played. Mrs. Joe Guthrie was winner of high score. < Mrs. Kirkland Trotter was called to Charleston this week en account of the illness of her father. Mrs. Leroy Wooten is spending the week in Charleston with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Cobb visited^ friends in Paw Creek last week. George Hodge has returned from a trip to Miami. Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Brasington and children, of Paw Creek, are visiting relatives here.
