with four carloads during the whole
of lh.'IO. Hogs are worth just about
seven cents a pound this year, compared
with ten cents last year, hut
seven rents is probably equal to ten
A cents a year ago.
The county ugent has received numerous
inquiries during the past few
duys in,regard to loans from the government
seed loan and fertilizer fund,
but he said Monday that not one
of those selling hogs has made inquiry
about the loan.
"This may be only a coincidence,"
said Mr. (.'raven.-?Bamberg Herald.

Louise MoLelland, of the Chesteifield
school faculty, were dinner
guests of Miss Katharine Ward on
Wednesday.
The teachers of the Bethune schools
are ultending the Teachers' a ?sociation
in Columbia this week.
Mr. John McDonald holds an unique
health record. Mr. McDonald is
eighty-three years old and last Thursday
was the first time during his
recollection a ,physician had been
called to sec him. He has been confined
to his home for the past week,

will soon be out again.

Brannon, 03, a highly respected
citizen, died at his home here last
Thursday night, March p.), after t
long illness.
P'uneral services were conducted by
the Rev. Mr. Ingram Friday afternoon
at the Brannon cemetery just
below town.
Mr. Brannon is survived by his
widow who, before marriage, was
