Conway Wilson, 38 year old Charlotte,
N. C., mechanic, who is alleged
to have left his wife and other members
of his family on the court house
lawn at Spartanburg to await his return,
has been missing eight days
without word of any kind from him.
The Wilsons and their five children
had been visiting relatives at Chesrvee,
and Wilson was in Spartanburg looking
for employment.
Denuty sheriffs arrested ut the
Eureka mill village at Chester, John
Rector, who escaped last fall from
the North Carolina penitentiary
where he was sentenced to thirty
years for killing his wife. He was
.surprised and quickly handcuffed on
the porch of his son's house. Rec4
tor was reared in York county and
for the past two months has been
alternating between kin in York and
Chester counties. He was taken back
to the penitentiary yesterday.

Boy Arrested For Theft
Nora Clarkson, a hard working
negro woman who lives on Manning
avenue, and who has been saving up
money for several years, was robbed
yesterday of something over $500 of
her savings. Fearful of the banks,
she had been hiding it about in convenient
places, and she had decided to
get it all together. Leaving the
house for a short time, upon her return
she found all of her money gone
and a small negro boy, whom she has
been caring for, had also left. The
police were notified and soon rounded
up the boy, who denied the theft, but
later confessed the crime, and restored
a part of the money; Further
pressure induced Iflm to say that he'
had given another boy part of the
money, which was traced to a third
negro, who made restitution, and
Nora agaiu became possessor of the
cash. She was then advised to deposit
the money in one of the banks
with the instructions to allow no one
to check on it, unless she was present
