Nine Are Drowned
aWhen Boat Overturns

members oi! a fi*hing party from
Brockton, Mass., and Sam Buddin, of
Greenville, Maine, were drowned late
yesterday afternoon when a rnotor
boat in which Buddin was taking them
to Tom Heegan's camp sprung a leak.
The engine stopped and the boat filled
"with water and sank. Chief Chnrle?
Baily of the Brockton Fire department,
the ninth member of the
party from that city was the only
person saved and he was so unnerved
this morning from his experience
that he was unable to give a
detailed narrative of the cntastrophe.

examination to be held at the countyseat
on Friday, July 13th. Applicants
must be at least sixteen and
not more than twenty years of age,
and must meet the educational requirements
for admission to the
freshman class, which are a certificate
from an accredited four-year
high school, covering fifteen units,
or an equivalent examination.
This scholarship covers tuition,
board, hospital, laundry, room, and
an allowance for uniforms.
The Citadel is a liberal arts college,
offering electives in civil engineering,
science, language and
literature, and business administra-.

having been rated by the War Department
continuously for many years
