Scott college is at the home of her
father, M. H. Heyman, to spend the

Miss Caro DeaChamps of Rembert
spent several- days during the past
week at the home of Mr, and Mrs.

Mr. Nettles Lindsay, of the Kendall
Mills, underwent an operation
at the Camden Hospital Monday for
appendicitis. He is getting along

Camden with Mr. and Mrs. J. M.
Klontz.
Mrs. H. D. Nile8 and son, Henry
Niles, Jr., have returned to bheif
home in Camden after spending a
week with relatives in Clinton and
Newberry.
Miss Mary Mickle, who was called
to Camden by the recent illness of
her young sister, has returned to
Charleston, where she is in training !
at Roper Hospital. ,
Mr. Dewey J. Creed and family \
have moved from Lyttleton street to j
a new brick bungalow on Hampton
Avenue, which -Mr. Creed recently
purchased from Dr. R. E. Stevenson.
Among the students who have returned
to Winthrop College, after
spending the spring holidays here,
are: Misses Mary Cure ton, Sarah
DePass, Thomasia Guthrie, Gertrude i
Zemp, Jemelle Ha-ile, and Mary Goodale.
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Osborne have
moved from their former home on
Mill Street to their newly acquired '
house on North Lyttleton street. 1

Special, Program of Church, Music
A special musical prograid will be
offered at the .First Baptist church of
Camden Sunday morning beginning
at 11:15 o'clock according to an announcement
issued yesterday afternoon.
Special music will also be a
feature during the Sunday school
hour opening "at 10 o'clock. The
public is invited to attend and wor?kip
at both services.

Celebrates Poarth Birthday
On last Saturday afternoon, Mr<.
Palmer Stoke* entertained in honor
of the fourth birthday of her daughter,
Jean Nelson. At that time about
twenty-jflve of Jean's little friends
were her guests. j
They all enjoyed an Piaster egg
hunt, in which contest little Mattie
Ijee Cullen found the traditional golden
egg.
After a round of game*, the young
guest* were invited into the dining
room, where a color scheme of white
*nd yellow was carried out in every
detail, and there they were served
with delightful refreshments.
Dinner Party for MUs Whitaker
Among the outstanding social
event* of the week, was the dinner
party on last Wednesday evening by
Mws Jumelle Haile, complimenting
Miss McRae Whitaker.
Hoses served as the keynote of
decoration in the dining room where
a most delightful course dinner was
served. > ;
In addition to the guest of horior;
those present were: Misses. Mary
Goodale, Dorothy Zemp and Dolly
Singleton, and Messrs. Sullivan,
Burnside, Bolton and Murphy, all of
Columbia, and Dr. Williams," of
Baltimore, Md.
Bridge Tournament
A bridge tournament will be given
by the Parent-Teachers Association
on Wednesday afternoon, April 11th,
at 4 o'clock at St. Mary's Hall.
Charges will be $2.00 per table or 50
cents for a single place. Reservations
can be had by calling Mrs. William
King or Mrs. John M. Villepigue.
Auxiliary To Meet At Legion Hall
On Friday, April 13th, at t
o'clock the Legion Auxiliarm will
hold their monthly meeting at
the American Legion Hall. All members
are urged to attend as plans for
the District meeting will be perfected.
Those who have not paid their annual
dues will please bring s?rme with
them to this meeting.
Chapter To Meet
The Hobkirk Hill Chapter D. A. R.
will meet at the home of Mrs. H. G.
Garrison, Sr., on Thursday, April
12th, at 4:30 p. m. All visiting
daughters are cordially invited to be
present.

this month. The story telling hour
is every Saturday morning from 9:30

Entertained For Miss Klontz
Miss Louise Klontz, who is a
student at Winthrop College spent
the Spring holidays in Camden. On
Friday evening Mrs. J. M. Kloijtz entertained
at cards in her honor.
Tables ..were arranged for bridge.
Refreshments were served at the conclusion
of the games.
On Monday evening Miss Klontz
was again entertained with a party
at the home of' Miss Anna . Belle
Watts, Ice eream and cake were
served. Mrs. J.4M. Klontz and Mrs.
Henry Owens assisted in entertaining.
Building Brick House
Dr. W. R. Clyburn is now having
a neat seven room brick house erected
on his lot on North Bro?4 Street.
Dr. Clyburn recently Yore down the
old house on the lot and since that
time he and Mrs. Clyburn have been
making their home with Mr. Lewis
Lee Clyburn. iMr. George A. Creed
has the contract for this building.

TRIBUTE OF RESPECT
Through a committee composed of
Mrs. J. P. Graham, Mrs, M. C.
Vaughan and Mrs. O. J. Smyrl, of the
Woman's Missionary Society of the
Camden Baptist Church, the following
resolutions have been drafted:
"Our town and community feel a
very deep loss in the .death of our
dearly beloved sister, Mrs. J. J. Goodalp.
After a short illness she was
called to her reward on March 9,
1928. She was one of the oldest and
most faithful members of the Gamdeb.
Baptist Church, and the Woman's
Missionary Society, therefore she will
b?*?^eatly missM by friends and loved.

Thanks Their Friends'
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Mickle wish to
thank their friends for the kindness
shown them during the illness of
their little daughter, Louise, who, we
are happy to say is greatly improved.
U. D. C. Meeting
The John D. Kennedy Chapter,
U. D. C. held its regular meeting at
the home of Mrs. A. A. Reasortover
on Monday. The principal business
of the afternoon was the election of
delegates to the District Convention,
which will be held in Lancaster.
Those who are to represent this
chapter are: Mrs. <N. R. Goodale,
Mrs. John T. Mackey, Mrs. E.' B.
Mobley, and Mrs. S. C. Zemp. -
