The Show Off
On Monday evening the resident*
and winter colony of Camden were
delighted to have the opportunity of
seeing Ceofge Kelly's "The ShowOff,"
not only because this was the
first of Kelly's plays to disclose definite
promise and assurance of on

The comedy of Aubrey l'ij?ei with
its pungent and racy truth was well
can by the director, William Dean;
the performance lacked the polish of
a play that was advertised as la-ing
comparable to the New York production.
The audience was delighted with;

Miss Ada Taylor Craham a- Mr- j
Fisher. Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. j
Stoney as Clara and Amy, the M-ter !
I in the play, were wel! contrasted!

' Cribbing The Neighbor's Paper
A few days ago the editor remarked
to a citizen that he ought to take
his home paper, The Enterprise. "I
read your paper every week," said
the man. We khow it, but whs surprised
at his frankness in admitting
that he was "beating" on his neighhoy
for tiie home paper. We knew,
al?o, that tin* man in question wu?
arrtply able to take a hundred papers
if he wanted that many, and pay for
them and never feel the expense,
while those he was depriving of their
paper were only in moderate circumstances.
Tiie paper borrower was
not only imposing on a good friend
or friends, in constantly borrowing
their Enterprise and frequently forgetting
to return it. but he is not
playing the game fan with the pub
lisher. There is hardly a family in
Mullins but who can afford an outlay
of less than four cents u week
for the home paper. Certainly the
paper should go into every home in
town if they expect to keep up with
local happenings. The head of eaeh
house needs the home paper, just as
much as we need the price. Neithc
can succeed without co-operation.
The Enterprise is only two dollars
a year and if there is a family in
town or nearby who is not able to
pay for the paper in one way or
anothei, we will cheerfully send it
free for the year. We want the
Enterprise to go into every home and
we expect those able to pay for it
to do so. If not, tell us about* it and
you shall have your paper just the
same. Don't beat your home paper
week after week. Your neighbor will
get tired of it after he reads this
offer so freely made by the publishers.

Summer ton Goes Richards one Better
We notice that the town of Summerton
is putting on the garb of
the Puritan and fast casting out
all worldly things. Just recently
some zealous official while looking
through the statute book discovered
that an ancient ordinance forbids
restaurants to remain open during
church hours. So this is now the
law in Summerton. Tourists traveling
on the Lafayette highway,
will soon learn to dine on Sunday
either bofore or after they reach the
place. The enforcement of this ordinance
will help other towns along the
route while giving Summerton a ,
black eye with the traveling public, j

the Blue Laws a little too far, and
it is our belief that not even our esteemed
governor would wish to de
