Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Pomeroy of
Buffalo, N. Y., have come down for
the winter and are temporarily stopping
with Miss Olive Whittredge until
their residence on Kirkwood
Heights is completed. Many changes
have been made in. this residence
during the summer riiOnths.
Mr. and iMts. Dwight Partridge
have arrived in Camden for the winter.
They spent the summer at
Great Harrington where Mr. Partridge
is manager of the Berkshire
Inn. They are here early in order
to get the Court Inn ready for their;
opening on Thanksgiving day.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry D. Kirkover!
of Buffalo, N. Y., have arrived in!
Camden for the winter and are occupying
the Potter residence for the
present. They will move into their
home, the former Barstow residence,-'
in a few weeks. This handsome
, property has recently been completely
remodelled and will be one of the
beautiful homes of Camden when
completed.

The wedding took place in the
presence of only a few friends and
relatives at the home of the bride's
father, Mr. J. C. Henagan, in the
Reedy ('reek section of Dillon county.
As the guests arrived they were receive<i
by Mrs. Clarence McLaurin
and Mrs. W. B. Stackhouse, assisted
by Mrs. Grady Rogers and Miss Effie
Evans.
. Just before the ceremony "AtDawn"
and "Until" were pleasingly
sung by Mr. Merritt Allen with Mrs.
Frank B. David at the piano,
t As the strains of Mendelssohn's
wedding march were heard Kev. E.
C. Bailey, pastor of the bride, entered.
Then came the bride upon the
arm of the groom. The ring ceremony
was used after which the pastor
presented t^e bride with the
"wedding book."
The bride was lovely in her wedding
costume of King blue all over
silk lace and appliqued velvet, with
small gold hut and appropriate fittings.
She carried a lovely bouquet
of pink rosebuds, sweet peas and
lillies of the valley.
Immediately following the ceremony
Mr. and Mrs. Boykin left in
their car for points south.
The guests of the wedding were
invited into the living room where a
delicious salad course" was served
by MiBs Mary Grace Alford, Mrs.
P. L. Bethea and Mrs. C. W. Bethea,
assisted by Misses Lillis McCormac,
Jane Evans, Tochie Alford, Annie
Weatherly, Mary Stackhouse and
Harriet Beard. Mrs. Thomas G. Mc-.
, Leod poured coffee. As. the guests
were leaving they were invited to
register by Miss Kate Rogers, who
| presided over the "bride's book."
Many beautiful and useful presents
j were received. One of especial interest
was the gift of the groom's aunt,
Mrs. Sallie Boykin Wilson, from
Charleston?a "silver service" which
hasnbeen in "the Boykin family for
over 300 years.
The bride is an accomplished
graduate of Florq MacDonald college
and her winning manners have mAde
for her a host of friends throughout
North and South Carolina.
The groom is a successful young
business man in Camden, S. C.

eon given by her sister, Mrs. J. C.
Henagan, in Dillon.
Circles Celebrate Anniversary
Last Tuesday being the sixth anniversary
of the formation of the
circle system in the Women's Mis-1
sionary Society of the Baptist church '
and it being the general meeting of
all of the circles, which takes place ,
at the church every three weeks, the '
j ladies met in the afternoon and not
; only attended to business but a pro|
gram of songs and a playlet was
; given. The program was in charge
j of the Mary E. Schrock Circle and,
j was much enjoyed. After this there
was the social hour enjoyed in the
new dining room of the church where
the ladies were served tea, sandwiches
and cake by the hostess
I circle.
M rs. Clyburn Complimented
Mrs. W. E. Jackson and Mrs. E. W.
j English entertained at the former's
j home on East Hampton Avenue on
Friday afternoon, with a house
warming shower, in honor of Mrs.
S. C. Clyburn. The rooms were
beautifully decorated with chrysanthemums
in all their lovely colors
and pot plants. The guests enjoyed
contests and games after which hot
chocolate, sandwiches and nuts were
|served.
