reams Stocked With Fish
On last Friday around twenty cans
of small black bass were received
from the government hatchery at
Orangeburg for stocking the various
streams of this section. The fish
were taken out by a number of h-cal
men interested in stocking the
streams and distributed fairly ycell
along streams that run into the Catawba
river. The object of putting
these fish out was to get these bass
started in the streams, and after a
few years the backwaters along the
river will furnish good fishing for
local nimrods. Many of the streams
of the county also have good pools
that will famish good fishing if
properly stocked. A number of!
farmers are also stocking small
ponds. County Agent Howell has a
number of applications still on hand
and he will he glad to send in applications
for ponds and also for any
streams that fish h^ve not already
been obtained for. A good was to
stock a s^oam is to have a -mall
broiling pond on the headwaters. In

The Bigham Case
I he agreement of counsel whieh res
lit ted in a life sentence for Edmund j
Bigham, was one of the worst blows
at justice that has been struck in
South ( arolina's criminal court history.
If Edmund Bigham wiped out the
entire household at Pamplico, including
his brother, mother, sister and
two small children, he is entitled to
receive all the punishment the state
of South Carolina can heap upon an
atrocious brute.
If he did not commit this unparallelled
carnage he has been done an
irreparable injustice in being incarcerated
for forty-seven months in the
death cell of the state penitentiary,
to say nothing of !>eing required to
spend the rest of his life behind the
bars.
