for the funeral, as it was Mr. Hill's j
request that his body should not be ,

developed that he had only been

SEIZURE OF AUTOS UPHELD
Can Ik? Forfeited by Government,
Says Supreme Court
Washington, Nov. 22.?Automobiles
seized while engaged in the unlawful
transportation of intoxicating liquor
may be forfeited by the government,
whether they are being operated by
their owners or someone else, the
supreme court ruled toduy in deciding
a case from Alubamu involving
one Ford coupe.
I hen* was sharp division in the
court, over the question whether the
old internal revenue laws imposing
taxes on the manufacture and sale of
liquor were in effect.
Justices McReynolds, Sutherland
and Butler joined in a vigorous dissent,
contending that the manufacture
and sale of liquor for beverage purposes
had been prohibited by the 18th
amendment and that the old revenue
laws taxing the manufacture and sale
of beverages had been inferentially
repealed by the prohibition law.
1 he importance of the issue rose
(mt of the assertion of the right of
m innocent owner to recover an automobile
seized while being used to
unlawfully transport liquor. Manufacturers
and automobile sales agents
were interested in the case.
The coupe was being sold on the
installment plan by the Garth Motor
company, which claimed the right to
recover it upon the showing of ownership
and unauthorized use in liquor
transportation.
Warren Griffen, 15-year-old lad of

physicians for the international
livestock exposition at Chicago,
the healthiest boy in America. Jeannette
Rushing, Sunflower county,

the healthiest girls in the country.
