Flowers Wins Scholarship
Official announcement U made by
J. J. Didcoct, chairman of the scholarship
committee of George Peabody
college, that I. Eugene Flowers, of
Darlington county, has won the Wade
Cooper endowment scholarship for
the summer quarter, which begins
June 9. Mr. Flowers has accepted
this, of course, and left Monday for
Nashville, Tenn., where the college
is located. He has selected as his
specialties courses in school administration
and high school supervision,
and this post-graduate course, after
winning His A. B. diploma at Funnan,
will qualify htm as an expert in his
departments.
Mr. Flowers is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. J. E. Flowers, who live about
five miles from Darlington, and he la
of strong character, with ambitious
