WILLIAMS DEAD | Linraitter Woman Had Many Kindred in Thin County Hundreds of people throughout Lancaster and Kershaw counties will be pained to learn of the death of Mra. Sarah Clyburn Williams, wife of 1>. A. Wililams of Lancaster, which occurred at their home in this city Sunday at 2 o'clock, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Williams was in her eighty-sixth years and death was due primarily to her advanced age. Mrs. Williams was the daughter of Lawia Clyburn and Sarah Kirkley of Lancaster county, and was born on the 28th day of February, 1811. She was married on the 16th of October, 1801, to D. A. Williams of the Flat Creek section of the county, and moved to Lancaster to make their home, where they have resided ever since, and enjoyed the distinction of being Lancaster's "oldest residents. She was the youngest and last of a family of twenty-four children. Mr. and Mrs. Williams were lifelong adherents of the Baptist faith. Together with Mr. and Mrs. L. C, Payseur and a few others, they organized the Lancaster First Baptist church, and until advancing years compelled her to give up active connection with the church, was a leader in all that pertained to the work of the Baptists of the county. Mrs. Williams was prominently connected with leading families of Lancaster and Kershaw counties and was a direct descendant of Lewis Claibourne, secretary to the London Company, the English syndicate that settled the Jamestown colony. She was an aunt 6f the late Steve C. Clyburn and L. 1^ Clyburn of Kershaw county, and /also of Colonel T. F. Clyburn, Major Ben Clyburn, W. U. Clyburn and L. M. Clyburn of Lancaster county, and a sister of the late H. M. Clyburn, all of whom predeceased her. She is survived by the following immediate family; Her husband, D. A. Williams, who is in his 89tn year, and eight sons anil daughters, T. Y. Williams, Lancaster; J. Oscar Williams, New York City; W. Ben, George W., D. Reese and Mrs. T. M. Hughes, Lancaster; Mrs. R. A. Dobson, Gaffney, and Steve C. Williams, Lancaster. The funeral services were conducted from the late residence in the eastern section of the city on Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, Rev. J. S. Corpening, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating, and her six sons, named above, acting as pall* bearers. Interment followed in West-, side cemetery, Lancaster, attended by an unusually large assemblage of friends and relatives, who had gathered to pay their respects to the j memory of one who had lived a long and honored life, survived by a large and devoted family connection, and the extensive" floral offerings attest"ed to the love and esteem in which s*he was held.?Lancaster News. After searching desperately all I night for a man reported missing when a Hartford building collapsed, one of the rescue party learned that j ho himself was the supposed victim. NOTICE TO DOG OWNERS All persons in the City of Camden are required by a City Ordinance to have their dogs sent to the Recorder's Court Room on May 17th and 18th, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12:30 p. m., and from 2:30 to 6:30 p. m., for the purpose of having same inoculated against rabies.
