Fire Near Keraha*
The residence of W, H. Truesdele,
about three milee southeast of Kerahaw
on the Ker&haw-Bethune highway,
was destroyed by fire near the
noon hour on Monday. When discovered
the fire was burning on the
kitchen roof near the f.lue ami the
wind being very strong the fire
^spread rupidly ar*J burned fiercely.
With the help of passers-by and near
'neighbors a good portion of the furniture
was removed from the building,
but the loss falls very heavily
on Mr. Truesdale as be had only
about $1,000 or $1,500 insurance on
the building, so we have been informed'
VV. I,. Blackmoii, of Kershaw,
who was coming over the road
toward Kershaw, reached that point
when the fire was getting its start,
and after stopping long enough to
aid in the removal of the furniture
bought the information to Kershaw.
??Kershaw Era,
Caught Large Bass
Sam Latban, expert fisherman as
well as fanner, made the catch of
the season at Liberty Hill pond Saturday
by landing a black bass weighing
six pounds. The head of the big
fish is now on display at the sporting
goods store of Lathan & Billings
on Main street. The great mouth,
about five inches' across,' looks like
the entrance to Hudson river tunnel,
New York. -1 ,ancaalcr,Mcava.

! ?This Year Don't Make
This Costly Mistake
Plan this year to keep your cows in the barn, on a?Larro
ration, until you know you can turn them out
without sacrificing profit. Too early pasturing is
costly?it will cut milk production, pull down the condition
of your cows, and damage the pasture itself.
By all means use your pasture when it's ready, but
right now your best bet is Larro.
