Miss Annie Long, accompanied( on the piano Kjjf Mrs. S. C. Zemp sang a Christmas carol, which added greatly to tho pleasure of the after noon. . Mrs. N. C. Arnett entered the room with a stocking six feet long, filled to overflowing with a wealth of dainty and substantial gifts which were presented to Mrs, Joseph Peeler by friends ajpd members of the Mis sionary society. In placing the gifts before the surprised honor guest she was assured that each gift represent ed the friendship and love of the many friends' who had fqund such great pleasure in helping to fill tho stocking for her. Mrs. Peeler ex pressed her surprise and pleasure in a graceful way and opened the pack ages that all mitfht see and enjoy the beautiful contents of the interesting looking packages. Although having been in our midst fot* only a year, by her gracious personality, charm ing friendliness and willing spirit of co-operation in all of the work that has come before the church and com munity, Mrs. Peeler has greatly en deared herself to the hearts rf he,r friends a>id co-workers. The hostess assisted throughout the afternoon by her mother, Mrs. Henry Truesdell, served Christmas candies and on leaving each guest was given i dainty . package of candy tied in Christmas ribbons. The rooms were attractive in their decoration of smilax and holly and numerous bowls of white narcissi and wl./.r eh r y sa nthemums were used. .Christmas bells hung from -the chan deliers and vases of red berries added to the cheery glow of fires, brightened the rooms adding to the pleasure and comfort of the afternoon/. . -More than fifty gdests shared this delightful occasion and the coining year is looked forward to with great interest and enthusiasm by the mem bers of the Woman's, Missionary So ciety. I take pleasure in reminding you of a form of pol icy issued by this Company which is especially appro priate at Christmastime . / refer to our Christmas and Birthday Trust is sued in units of $ 10,000 on any one of our regular plans of insurance. The unique provisions of this Trust are as follows: 1 ? The Trust provides , in the event of the in sured's death , for an income to be paid to the wife of $50 a month for 20 years . 2 ? Furthermore , the Company agrees to send each Christmas Day , after the death of the in sured, direct to the wife , a check of $27.50 for 20 years. 3 ? And , upon the wife's birthday , every year for 20 years , the Company will send her a check f or $25. / ? It can be arranged that should the wife die be fore the 20 years are completed , the remainder may be paid in a lump sum to the estate of the beneficiary or to the children. I venture to say that not a man in a hundred real izes that he can provide in advance in such a way as this .
