A new and ingenious method of
avoiding paying the 1 923 automobile
state tax was discovered recently by
MtUorcycIe Officer Fulnter and Officer
Lindsay, of the state highway.
A car belonging to E. C. Moseley,
who reides near Aiken, was found to
contain a seemingly new license tag,
but upon close inspection it was found
that the number "4" had been beaten
out flat on. the license tag and a new
impression made with a cast iron di?
in the shape of a number "5" and the
green color of last year painted over
with a yellow of lS>2f>.
The officers believe they have found
the first of a. number of automobiles
that are bearing false home-made
tags.
