SUMTER VS. CAMDEN lla?ket Bull Gom To Sumter; Camden Winner at Tennis Boy Scouts representing the two Sumter troopH beat the local troop by a close margin on last Friday af ter a well played game of basketball on the high school court. The Sum ter boys showed that they were used to the game and ill.so well coached. Bryan at forward proved Sumter'a star ringing up 12 of the 10 points made by tho Sumter lads. Scout Sheorn played the best game for the local boys making H of the 11 points Jennings at guard played well for Sumter while Wooten, Burns and Hopkins each rang one for the locals and the entire Camden team played well considering the lack of coach ing. The tennis match that followed the game went to Camden, Joe Mogulescu representing the Camden troop proved too much for Perry Hayncs worth aiul easily won the first set 0-0, but in the second set Haynes worth braced down only to lose again after a. hard fought set, the score being 6-4. In the doubles Mogulescu and Burns continued to win defeat ing Haynosworth and llarby 0-2. Among the Sumter people present to witness the game were Scoutmas ter Parkftm and Assistant Scoutmas ters Burns and McCook. Mr. Burns refcreed the game. Boy Scout News We held our weekly meeting Fri day night at 7:30 o'clock. We had almost perfect attendance with two visitors from Sumter. After the roll was called and the dues collected we organized a base ball team. Billy Lindsay was elected manager and Moultrie Burns captain. Scoutmaster deLoach told us if the weather per mitted we would go on an overnight hike next Friday. We talked about fixing up the cabin ami the scout master told us that he wanted us t to start having patrol meetings again. All the patrol leaders were asked to go down, town Monday and see about baseball equipment and other business. After that we were dis missed. ,Scout Elmer Watts.
