menting the pupils of the Camden
High School. .
^ The Rest Shop is a popular place
with the "girls and boys anyway, and
the warm and cordial hospitality ex
tended them Thursday evening will
be "the tie that bimjs" and give the
Rest Shop an abiding place entirely
it's own in the' hearts of the high
school youths and maiden?.
Chicken salad sandwiches and
punch were served.

Meeting of Ci%ic League.
The la-t meeting of the season for
the Civic League was held Monday
afternoon on the Grammar school
grounds which were cool and delight
ful after the rain, the setting sun
throwing his slanting rays over the
assembled membership on the stand
under the spreading oaks. The
league president. Mrs. William An
crum, presided, and Mrs. H. G. Car
rison, Jr.', wax in her place as secre
tary.
The ladies thought the old auto
mobiles lined up on some of Our
.street*, on lower Main, in front of the
jail and especially on the highway,
made thing* look out of trim and
wore Certainly unsightly, The ladies
thought if tj)v matter was brought
to the notice of the parties responsi
ble they would glad to improve
vendition* and clean up things.

The Hobkirk Hill .Chapter held it's
iinal meeting for the summer on
Friday afternoon with the regent,
Miss Leila Shannon. The year's, work
showed a steady increase in member
ship and interest. It <vas decided to
invite the John L). Kennedy' Chapter
D. Ui C. to tea at the chapter, kail
on Friday, June 13th, at 5:S0 o'clock.

Following the somewhat lengthy
discussions, Mrs. John G. Richards,
Jr., and Mrs. Clifton McKain charmed
the audience with their music. Miss
Virginia Clarke added to everyone's
pleasure and enjoyment with a very
