Chester Man Died of Lockjaw Chester, April 5. ? Galloway Wade, popular young planter of the Wilks burg section of this county* died in the Chester Sanatorium at 11:30 o'clock tonight after .suffering for five days with lockjaw. Mr, Wade was engaged in sawing wood about five weeks ago when h^is hand slipped and the fast-whirling saw cut off sev eral' fingers. The wound later be came poisoned, causing lockjaw. Since being carried to the sanatorium his condition has grown steadily weaker. ' # He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Wade, of Wjlksburg; three sisters, Misses Margaret and Eliza beth Wade, of Chester,- and Mrs. Richard Sagler, of Chester, and by one brother, Luther Wade, of 1 the Wilksburg section. ? - Hare-handed Catcher Dead. Highway Engineer Caught Speeding, Columbia, April 2.? ( harles 11. Moore field, state highway engineer, was arrested for traveling on a state highway at the rate of thirty miles an hour, according to news that leaked out at highway department headquarters in Columbia. Mr. Moore field was charged with exceeding the speed limit of 25 miles an hour and was lined $15 by the magistrate before 'whom he was brought for a hearing. His fine was refunded, however, when he explained that the past legislature raised the speed limit for automobiles on the highways to 35 miles an houi. . An Adequate Reason.
