NEWBERRY'S PRODIGY
Who Knows All Auto Numbers and
Owners.
Newberry, Nov. 17. ? In the person
of a little "light-skinned" negro,
Brady Williams, 13 years old, New
berry has a strange mental prodigy.
The little negro has a . marvelous
memory. His special forte at present
is automobilp numbers and he has
been recently amazing local cit
izens with his ability to instantly
tell the class and license number of
any and all cars in the city or coun
ty. Giving the name of the owner he
can without hesitation supply thi& in
formation, And Newberry has thou
sands of cars and many, many Fords.
Young Brady can also reverse the
process and given the numbers of the
car supply the name of the owner.
An "unofficial" committee compos
ed of J. P. Moon, secretary of the local
chamber of commerce, the Rev. Earl
V. Babb, pastor of the First Baptist
church here, and a newspaper man of
the city, visited the boy one morning
during the week 'just passed and gave
him a test which supported beyond
any doubt the claims that have been
made for his unusual memory.
The boy is delivery and utility
worker at Paysinger's Meat market
here. When the "committee" ar
rived to question him he came forward
from the rear of the shop and without
any ostentation proved his ability in a
surprising manner. He supplied the
number of Mr. Moon's car, C-8331,
and a dozen or more without a mo
ment's pause, specifying in most in
stances their license class and model.
When asked about the car license
number of citizens who own more
than one car, he would, for instance,
reply:
You means Mr. B. L. Dorrity, the
cotton buyer, he's got two cars, his
Hudson is 1063 and his Ford Coupe
55820."
When asked to whom car B-3219
belonged, a number selected before
hand in passing, he promptly answer
ed : _?_!
"That's Mr. Derrill Smith's," which
was correct.
Some of the numbers supplied by
the boy were: Mayor W. W. Cromer,
3185; Harry Dominick, C-9984, Mr^.
Herman Wfight, B-10883 "Maxwell
and Chalmers D-4309; Will Matthews
F-248; Z. F. Wright, E-289; Col. W.
H. Hunt, 2925 Maxwell.
Mr. Paysinger said that his delivery
boy can among other things repeat a
sermon practically word for word,
citing also the chapter and verse for
most any Biblical quotation. The boy
moderately admitted that this was
true. He now intends, he said to mem
orize all local telephone r.urftbers and
act as a human directory for his em
ployer in this respect.

Exchange ? On a dark and "Willys
Knight" a "Pathfinder" set out to
locate the "Chevrolet." On this trip he
was forced to "Ford" the "Hudson"
and "Dodge" "Overland" in his rush
to make a "Paige" in history. With a
load of "Saxon" he was struck by a
"Pierce Arrow" and was knocked
"Cole."
London is said to be1 interested in a
dispatch from Prague, which claims
that Prof. Mladejewsky has discover

for arterio-sclerosis. A patient treat

recovered within a short time.
