Jacobs, al derman from the tenth ward in Char leston, arrived at the Florence county jail yesterday and has begun serving his sentence of thirty days for violation of the national prohibi tion law. Mr. Jacobs has the altern ative of a fine of $500 according to the sentence imposed by Judge H. A. M. Smith in the federal court in Charleston*. Alderman Jacobs enur ed a plea of guilty.
