The entire citizenry of Kershaw County is invited to Camden
on July 4th to mix and mingle with the citizens of the
County Seat with a Grand Community Picnic
Former Judge M. L. Smith, of Camden, will be the principal speaker for the day; also another
noted speaker will deliver an address. Five companies of the South Carolina National Guard
will be here for the occasion? 'three companies from Columbia, one from Hartsville and Cam
den's own company. Millitary manovers and competitive drills will be held. A twenty-piece
brass band from Union will furnish music for the occasion. A baseball game between two crack
teams is being arranged. Every lady in Camden and County is expected to bring baskets.
