Mr. Tom Newman Dew).
< ?iu- entire community was grieved
last Monday to fearn of tl)e death of
I'om Newman, who for the past fifteen
years ha* be?*n associated with the
Wuterec Mills, working in tho Cnrd
Itoom.
Tom was born in Tinifod section, In
the upper part of Kershaw county;
10 years ago. and came to Camden
when the Hermitage Mill was flrat
started up. Ixiter on, hia family moved
to Waterce and have been here Bloat
<>f the time since. Tom had been
deadily employed for the post three
years at our mill. Mr Newman hus
been in bad health for some time, -but
only recently did we learn of its seri
ous nature.
lie leaves 11 widowed mother, sevoral
? istcrs and brothers, to whom our
community at large extends heartfelt
sympathy. Tho funeral services were
conducted by Rev Fureron and ihe
lnuly was buried in the cemetery ad
joining Waterce Uaptisl Chureh.

Just before the appointed hour Mr
Murdoch Blyther, brother of the bride
sang "At Dawning". To the strains of

played by Miss Vivian Arnold, the

McCafkill and was met at the altar by
the grpom and his brother., Mr N J
Laney. of Blshopvilie. The ceremony
being performed by Rev Araut, pastor
of the bride.

delightful salad course and coffee was
