Civic . league Meets.
T.he March meeting of the Civic
League was well attended, and the
meeting called to order by the first
vice president, Mrs. William Shannon,
and minutes of last meeting rwid "by
the secretary.
Thi' exchange <vf plants did not
claim as general Interest as the
league had hoi>ed for, however, some
icinumbered. the diy. and brought of
ferings t(\ further adorn our parks.
No. report was rendered in regard
to committees for the coming Federa
tion. and. a special committee, consist
ing of .Mrs. N. K. (Joodalc. Mrs. Leroy
Davidson, Miss Louise Nettles, were
appointed to meet with Mrs. von
Tresekow and act for the League in re
gard to social conrtlsies to be ex
leaded the visitors.
The League will be represented in
the state Federation, by the president.
Mrs. Edwin Muller, and Mr*. ('. M.
Coleman as delegates.
The entire membership desires a
general clean-up of our parks and
streets as Camden is to be hostess*

Camden! always, hut we are anxious
for her to be in holiday attire, and
look her best .when slir greets the
distinguished visitors that are to come
within her gates.
A special committee, consisting of
Mrs. John S. Lindsay. Mrs. C. M. Cole
man, and Miss Leila Shannon, was ap
pointed -by the 'acting president, to
?ec if something could not be done in
regard to the fountain on Kershaw
Square. This is important and we
hope will be given immediate attention

There were no wards issued, and
the occasion assembled only the re
latives and a few intlumto friends of
the fuin(ly. The spacious rooms that
lend themselves so nntdliy to decora
tion had Indeed heen converted Into
a bower of beauty with a profusion
of flowers that, dame nature Ins
so lavishly Ibestowed up<?i .Camden
this Spring.
Tno eoremony room ha da~ color
pcjhctnc of white and yreon, the impro
vised altar in the deep bay window,
had a back ground of white, with a
delicate tracery of Southern smllax,
and the wedding bell of white and
green hung In the center. Shades had
'mm>u drawn, and Innumberable candles
arid shaded electric lights lent a soft
glow to the scene. A white oar|>etod
aisle led to the altar, formed by a
chain of delicate ferns and volley
lilies, - caught at intervals by tall jars
of stately white lilies. And a-down
this aisle the -wedding party came at
the appointed hour, to the strains of
the time-honored wedding march play
efl by Mrs. MeCorkle.
Miss Sara Wolfe, the bride's cousin
and only attendant wore a lovely,
afternoon dress of dark blue georgette;
wiili picture hat. She carried an arm
full of orchids, showered with fct ven
der sweet peas. The bride entered
with ljer uncle. She 'wore an exqui
site afternoon gown of brown lace
over brown pussy-willow satin with
picture hat and accessories to match,
and the artistic bouquet was of bride's
toses showered' with valley lilies. She
was met at the alt'ir by the groom
with his best- man. Mr. Ifarr.v Sutton,
of Newborn mil the beautiful and im
pressive ceremony performed by Itabbl
11 lrsoh? of -Sumter.
The color scheme in the dining room
was -white and yellow, and was beauti
fully curried out Ju detail. The
bride's table had as^ a center decora
tion aji artistic basket of daffodils,
tied with a huge bow of yellow tulle,
and a shower of yetfoW flowers fell
from the shaded chandelier. The room
was- flower-filled. Tall vases and
grent bowls In sunny ye Mow, shedding
sum-bine and perfume in every nook
and corner. Delicious ? punch, block
ice cream, and cake were served, carry
ing out the wedding colors in all their
?beauty and daintiness. The punch
bowl was presided over by Miss Wall
man. of Macon, Ha., sister of the groom
and another sister JtlKl charfcorof the
bride's book, in which every guest was
requested to register.
A number of telegrams-were read
by Mr. Julius Jacohson each bringing
a message of good will and congratula
tions to the young couple. One read

Mr. a fid Mrs. Wallman left on the
nprth lHMind train for a trip through
the middle west. After which they
will be at home in Newborn. North
Carolina.

The regular monthly meeting of the
?Library Association will meet Monday,
March 21st. 5 p. m. at the Library.
This is auTnrportant meeting and all
