A lovely Color scheme ?.?f white and
yellow was carried out iu the exquisite
gowns of 'the bridesmaids and the maid
of honor. Miss Perry Belle Bennett, of
Lancaster, and Miss Ethel Yates of
Camden, wore yellow taffeta and car
ried white chrysanthemum*. Misses
Mamie Allen, of OreenvlHe. anil Miss
Virginia Taylor, of Qamdeo. had dress
es of white taffeta and carried yellow
chrysthemnms. ^ Miss Ned Watkius, the
young sister of the bride as maid of
honor was scha rmtng In unbroken yel
lows-dress and flowers.
The bride entered with her brother,
Mr. Jack Watkius, who gave 'her in
marriage. Her handsome wedding
gown of white satin and rosepolut lace
was well suited to her stately bearing
-the Ion si court train hung from the
waist and her vei| fell from a coronet,
of pearls, She carried a bouquet of
brides roses, showered with valley Ul
lles. She was met at the alter by the
groom with his best man. Mr. Lewis
lice C'lyburn, and the llev. M. M. Ben
son united 'them with the beautiful
ceremony of the Church of Kngland.
A large and brilliant reception was
held at the Watkius home on Laurens
street. The entire lower floor was
thrown ensuite and converted Into an
autumn garden? forest greens mingled
with white anil yellow chrysanthemums
the queen of autumn flowers.
The guests wore welcomed at the
door by Mr6. Brat ton deLoach, Mrs.
A. lL Kennedy. J r? and Miss Louise
Nettles, and the receiving line, com
posed of I he entire bridal party and
Mrs. H. L. Watkius formed in the east

In the dining room Mrs. Jack Wtlftta
ker and Mrs. John Lindsay received,
and a bevy v of young girls passed
baskets of brides ooke. The brides
table was a dream of beauty, having
as a center decoration a silver vase
filled with' while . cosmos and these
d-a+nt.v flowers "Were- scattered over
the polished table. White tulle fell
from the chandelier and the brides
cake was of unusual beautv.

The three punch bowls were presided
over by Mrs. Margaret Miller, Miss
Mary Villepigue, Misses K'lHierlue
Wallace and Margaret Taylor. Miss
Phoebe Oswald and Nancy Carroll. The
presents were numerous and handsome.
Miss Celeste Mum ford had charge of
the gift room.
Mr. atid Mrs. P?rry have gone to
Florida on a wedding trip. Quite a
number of out of town guests attended
the podding.

den Civic League' and Camden Library
Association.
"Camden to the front"!" always brings
great rejoicing to the hearts of hpr

t<he charming hospitalities of the
qualm old town of Winnsboro.
The Association went on record as
favoring the Library Commission Bill
that came near passing in 1020, and Ik
t<> come up .again in the next meeting

to the proposed appropriation for a
Woman's Building at the University of

daughters of Carolina the same oppor
tunities that are given her son*.
The Association decided to give 12

girls and l>ov*. Miss Minnie Clyburn
consented to be^a committee of one to

lug to contribute to that worthy cause

Automobile Burned.
An automobile belonging to Dr. J.
F. Workman caught fire last Wednes
day morning about two o'Hock near
Carrlson's Mill when Dr. Workman
witih a number of friends were re
turning t'? Sumter from Camden where
they had l?e?ni attending the Knight
Templar banquet. The car was a
Patfaon Six. The flr<\ it is stated,
1 w?* probably due to n short circuit In
?hc electrical wiring. Tlie fire started
ho suddenly and spread so rapidly that
the car could not possilriy be saved.
