according to a dis|mtch received at
Washington from Biskra. Dr. ToUlanf,
of the Pasteur Institute of Ophtal
mology, who Is conducting experi
ments on a herd of monkeys In an ef
fort to Isolate the germ which Is blind
ing tons of thousands of Aranian chil
dren, has informed the American Red
Cross that eight of every ten children
in the Sahara are now affected.
The white nuns of the Sahara are
treating the eyes of hundreds of chil
dren. With Biskra, "the Garden of Al
lah" oasis, as their headquarters, they

With the approach of the hot months
It Is feared, the disease will become
