Change in French Marriage Laws.
That the age of bride and bride
groom need no longer be Inscribed on
the marriage certificate Is a new rule
in regard to .French marriages. It Is
sufficient if they are declared of age,
or over thirty, a statement of specific
age being unnecessary.
Hitherto it has been necessary to
have the banns posted up on the door
of the town hall for ten days, Includ
ing two Sundays. The latter clause
in the rule has been abolished, while,
if desired, the civic authorities can
celebrate the marriage at the house
of either the bride or bridegroom,
says London Tit-Bits. Two witnesses
Instead of four will also in future he
sufficient.
The names of the respective par
ents will no longer appear In the offi
cial publications. The mother of oiie

ture have the right to oppose the mar
riage, a right which before was *>nly
attributed to the father.

they have found a welcome and where
they have been fed and protected they

a small lake where wild geese and
ducks have been fed, and within a
few years that lake, even though It be
within the city, has come to be the
mecca of thousands upon thousands
of ducks which in previous years were

Hot Spot and ?Ranf s-horn
HAVE LIFTED
C HAL ME mm
_ f ;. ? J ? - ? /; - ?_
to the Peak of Efficiency
IN these days when "gas" is going up in price and
down in grade through a shortage in supply the
: world over, consider these revolutionary devices:
Hot Spot and Ram Vhorn. They have lifted Chal"
mers to the very peak of'efficiency.
Thev get amazing power out of low grade "gas."
(futility Fit#
When the/aw "gas" strikes Hot Spot this device transforms it
into a "cloud," very much like a drop of water striking a hot stove.
This "cloudy" condition makes just the right fuel for the engine.
Now the task is to get it quickly to the engine chambers for
ignition before it can condense or "grow rainy."
This is where Ram Vhorn performs heroic service. It has no
sharp corners for "gas" to lodge against, is surprisingly short in
length, and the velocity with, which "gas" travels through this
"tunnel" is estimated at one hundred miles per hour..
The results are twofold. You get power with rare smoothness.
You seldom expel iencr such difficulties as fouled" spark plugs,
burned bearings, scored cylinders and the like, because "raw gas"
cannot trickle down past the pistons and thus "cut" the lubri"
eating oil in the crankcase.
These efficiency results have added to the impression that
Chalmers is one of the few great cars of the world.
