Mr. Tbonus Davis Dead.
Mr. Thomas Davis, who resided in!
Camden, all of his life, up to a few mouthy
ego, died in a Columbia hospital 1'ues-;
day afternoon, alter fc Iph* illness. Mr.j
Davis about fVCty years of jpge and;
was the. son of the late Mrs.-' Bruce
Davis, who died in this city a few months
ago. The body was held in Columbia
until yesterday afiternoon, awaiting the
arrival of relatives, from Jacksonville
and Atlanta, when it was brought to
Camden and the funeral was held here

A1. B. DeShussure and R. C. DeSaussure,
of Atlanta and Jacksonville, and Mr.
Benjamin Haile, of Columbia, came over
to.attend the funeral.
Cotton Convention Postponed.
R. M. Mixson, president of the South
Carolina Cotton Association has sent
the followtfn^ to tihe press of the State:
I have just received the following tele
gram : "Alabama State Board of Health
refuses to allow oottoon oonvention held
in Mionitgomery next wVek, on account of
influenza epidemic." Therefore, the con
vention has been postponed until April
12-16, to be held in Montgomery.
Death of Mrs. J. H. Aiken.
Mrs. Susie Aiken wiife of J. II. Aiken
died ait her home at Winusboro, S. C.
last Tuesday. Her remains were brought
to NVcstviLle for interment in the ceme
tery at Bethany irfhurdli. She was 28
years of age and leaves "her ihuwband and
itJhree small children. Mrs. Aiken was
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. M.

and field in the highest esteem by all
who knew her, and her death is a great
