Mrs. Hammond Dead.
Mrs. Fannie Hammond, aged H2 years,
for many years a resident of Camden,
died at the Columbia Hospital last Thurs
day night, ^nd her body was brought
hero Friday where it was taken to Spring
Hill church yard, in Sumter county, for
burial after funeral services by Dr. W.
W. Daniel of Camden. Mrs. Hammond
was the mother of Mrs,. Benjamin Mar
tin. of Camden, who before her marriage
was Miss Byttie Hammond, of the South
ern Hell force here. Mrs. Hammond
wa* a -victim of broucho pneumonia*.
Two Couples Arrested.
Two white women and two white men
giving their homes as Sumter were ar
rested and made to spend Monday night
in the eir.y prison on the charge of drunk
and disorderly. They were traveling by
airto ami stopped in Camden long enough
to g.?t pinched by the cops. The .women
were placed umler. 1 btfnds of $25 each*
while the met* wercWnded for $35 each.
The bonds were forfeited and they con
tinued on their way next morning.
To Build Two Stores.
Mr. C. W. Evans will move his un
dertaking establishment in the near fu
ture ta a building on East DcKalb
Street yet to be erected. Mr. Henry
Savage has plans made for two store
buildings near the corner of Lyttleton
and DeKfllb streets and the one to be
?(??copied by Mr. Evart$ will be a onc
sfory building 20x5*0 with morgue, chapei
and show rooms. The other building will
be lttx.sO feet. Work will commence
about February first.
