| illness, but nevertheless brought genu
ine sorrow to many hearts In the old
town where she spent all of her mar
ried life, and where she was greatly be
loved. Heforc her marriage she was Mias
Addle hodd of Ohio, and came to Cam
den as u bride in the sixties her huH*
baud. Major S. It. Adams holding a
government position here. It was the
tithe of hitlernesH and strained rela
tions between the sections but Major
Adams ami his (ihanbiuK bride brought
with them the "olive -'brunch of peace",
t tin t opened to thenr the hearts and j
homes of the people where they were
abiding quests and life-long friendships
formed. They acquired property and
settled here, passing u long and happy
life in the midst of a people who loved
und admired them. Major Adams died
.i few years . ago. Mrs. Adams was a
\y? muti of culture and brilliant intellect
ami the possessor of a magnetic and
charming personality. The remains were
brought to fuiudcn and the funeral
MMyivos held at her old home, the quaint
bungalow on DeKulb street, so well re
membered by many for the warmth and
(?harm of its hospitality and now the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Hiehey. -The
services were conducted by Ilev. F. (H.
II aiding. ltecjtor ?>f Grace Church of
which she was a member. They were
simple and beautiful. her friends sing
ing; several appropriate selections. The
casket was covered with flowers aud
also held a laurel wreath sent by the
Hobklrk Hill Chapter I). A. It. aud
tied .with the blue and white ribbons?
the colors of that organization, of which
she was a valued member. The. pall
bearers were Messrs. Win. Shanuou,
Henry Savage, John S. Lindsay, \ C. J.
Shannon. Jr.. W. L. DePass and II.
1.. Uh'hey. The interment was - made
"in the family plot in the old Quaker
cemetery beside her husband and the
two sons that they lost in early life.

furnished the music and refreshing
punch was served during the evening,

ehaperones. gallant young men. pretty
girls in lovely evening dresses represent

hear of the death of Fletcher Latham
which otvurrod ou Monday afternoon
| in' Uiehmond, Va., at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. \V. F. Malone whose nephew
"id adopted son he was. Fletcher was
the sou of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wade
II. Latham and was a native of Cam
den. leaving here about three years ago
with' Mr. and Mrs. Malone to mukc his
h<$ le ih Uiehmond. He was u bright
'lotnble and industrious boy and had
done well in his new home, holding busi
ness positions of importance and trust
for one of his years and winning for
himself a place in a wide circle of boy
and girl friends who loved him for his
generous unselfish heart and bright
cheery manner. ?For the same reason
