It has pleased our Heavenly Father in his infinite wisdom to take from us our beloved fellow member and frierod Emily -Nesbit Shannon. She was among the first presidents of the John I). Kennedy Chapter of the II. I). C. All of us know how close her heart was to this great work. Only ill health prevented her from taking an. active ptort in all the civic, patriotic and charitable organizations of which she was a member. As it was, her deeds of 'tender kindness and gentle mercy were many, scarcely her left hand knew what her right hand did to relieve sickness, need and' dis tress. \ For many years an invalid she lived a life of unselfish ]witienee and tin complaint and to fehose who had' the privilege of knowing her in her home life she will ever 1k> an ensample of Godly living.
