Last Sunday afternoon during the
storm lightning struck the residence of
Mr. .1. M. Ilearoii and stunned his
daughter. Miss Blondcl. but she soon
recovered. Sonic of the furniture in
the parlor was broken but the house
was not injured.
Another huge rattlesnake was killed
near Mr. Charlie Brown's home last
week h\ Mrs. Brown. The monster
bad come out of the hushes and was
crawling towards the chicken house,
presumably for a fat chicken or a
mess of eggs, when Mrs. Brown got
the liim ami shot its head nearly otT.
It had Hi rattles and a button and was
five feet .Ioiilt. Kvery woman should

Mrs. Mary Klump, aged Oil, of Allen
town. I'a.. is believed to be- the oldest
person in that city and is also thought
to be the oldest woman druggist in the
world. She was a daughter of Ludwlg
Schmidt, A lien town's first druggist, and
