less exnugcruted tongue, according 1"
personal fancy, is a general favorite.
These ii rt* equally |ii< >?1 ImIi in t lie dull
calf oi' bright patent leather. Another
favorlle in low shoes is the perfectly
plain pump of calf or patent leather.
This is made with a rat iter long vamp,
and tits smoothly over the instep, be
ing finished with a how of leather, a
small buckle, or ii? ?* ornament at all.
There is variety in heels also: tiie me
dium high heel is generally favored f??r
street wear, the French lieel for even
ing. ami there is a comfortable and
good looking low heel for those who do
not -care for the higher one for street
wear. Sport shoes are particularly
charming, being low <>f heel, broad of
toe, and most comfort tfhle as well as
chic. There are rubber-soled and heel
ed canvas shoes, high and low. for ten
nis. golf and similar sport ; substantial
looking shoes for walking, mountain
climbing and the more strenous of <>nt
of-dbor pur|>oses. These come in tan
or black and leiid themselves t<> any
appropriate out-of-door costume. For
those who favor the flat-heeled. hroad
toetl shoe, there are a number of nitid
is!! low slux'j*. on the Oxford ty|H\
which may h? appropriately worn with
the tailored suit or dress for street and
business wear.
Neckwear is particularly interest
ing this summer. The various collars
and jabots now modish offer limitless
ways of changing or brightening up a
frock or blouse.
Perhaps the very newest idea in nt'ik
wear is the slender ea|?e of white,
black. Java, brown, or other favored
shade, of cre^ie Ceorgette, trimmed with
bands of ermine,. I waver, or moleskin.
The short-haired furs are preferred for
t.hesC eajies. While these novelties are
a bit absurd, still, they are effective and
becoming, and afford quite a hit of
warmth, worn In the evening over the
sheer lingerie frock or the filmy dance
dress.
The Jabot frill of chiffon, net. pieot
edgod (Scorgette. or Organdy is an ef
fective accessory with the tailored suit :
It is worn oftentimes with the coat, and
then again it is a part of the blouse.
The jabot blouse- is one of the iwpular
models of the season.'
