Two Infantry regiment*, some field artil lery and a wagon train followed. The departure was an business-like as a practice march. A long, hazy line of alkali dust standing out against the dull white of the plains and the blaxjng light of the sun mark'ed their progress toward the border. Col. 8 locum met Col. Pavljla, of the Mexican forces, who promised that no resistance would he made The entire Mexican population In I'alomas, soldiers and civilians with out exception, cleared away when the Americans passed through the town. The censor has asked all correspon dents filing by mall not to disclose military movements or details as to numbers of troops, saving that to make public questions of such military Im portance might mean a loss of Anderl can lives.
