Make Our Roads the Best in the State
"We the undersigned merchants and citizens of 'Camden, joining
in the spirit of 'Bring the Country to Town' and recognizing the
vital importance of providing more adequate highways on which
our country friends and patrons may travel and transport their
wares to market; gladly contribute the amount opposite our names
for the improvement of road leading from Camden to Kershaw."
This space and above heading will be used to acknowledge subscriptions now be
ing raised by committee appointed for that purpose. Every citizen and business man
will be given an opportunity to show the country at large that he is not only public
spirited but broad minded enough to appreciate the fact that our industries cannot
prosper without the co-operation and aid of those producers and consumers residing
in outlying districts. Therefore, it behooves every live business man to assist in pro
viding the very best roads possible to bring these people nearer to us.
