We were shown a cartoon and painting a few days ago by an ig norant darkey who had had but just what education he could get at the end of his days work of cutting wood or plowing. It was the work of Marion Taylor, who Is now employ ed as a laborer on the Southern rail way's section crew. Mr. Chipley, proprietor of the way side store on the road leading to the Wateree river bridge has been receiving the congratulations of his friends the past week on his chang ed apearance since he has been re lieved of part of his hirsute adorn ments, which for years he had taken great pride In. He apeared on the streets Monday morning dressed in duck trousers and blue serge coat.
