You can get good Kakimo doga in
Greenland, or In Alaska. Hut the
good doga In Greenland may not be

of the Daniah government; and the
good doga In Alaaka are not so good.
One trouble with ordinary Kakimo
doga la that they have no breeding
and no dlacipllne. They will obey the

number of members of both houses of
parliament who have passed the age

only 19 members of the lower house
have seen their seventieth birthday.
The oldest peer is "the earl of
Wemyss, who is ninety-four years old,

ninety-one years respectively, to their
credit Mr. Samuel Ydung, who is
ninety, in spite of his name, is the
doyen of the commons, Mr. Thomas
Burt, the "father" of the house, being,

Le Petit Caporai.
Las Cases, the biographer of Na
poleon Bonaparte, thus describes the
origin of the title Le Petit Caporai;
A singular custom was established in
the army of Italy, in consequence of
the youth of the commander, or from
some other cause.
After each battle the oldest soldiers
used to bold a council and confer a
new rank on their young general, who,
when he made bis appearance in the
camp, was received ^ by the veterans
and saluted by his new title.
They made him a corporal at Lodi
and a sergeant at Castigllone; and
henoe the surname of "Pbtit Caporai"
which was for a long, time applied to
Napoleon by tbe soldiers.
How subtle is the chain which
unites the most trivial circumstance to
the most Important events! Perhaps
this very nickname contributed to his
miraculous success on his return in
1S15. While be was haranguing the
first battalion, which he* found it neo
essary to address, a voice from the
ranks exclaimed, "Vive nqjtre petit
caporai J" We will never fight against
him!"
