State of South Carolina,
County of Kershaw.
City Counil of Camden.
In response to a petition of the
majority of the freeholders of the
City of Camden, of date February
11th, 1913, directed to the City
Council of Camden, South Carolina,
asking that an election be ordered
in the City of Camden by the said
City Council of Camden, for the pur
pose of submitting to the qualified
electors of the said City the ques
tion of the. issuance of ninety thous
and dollars ($90,000.00) coupon
bonds for the establishment aQd
ownership by the said City of a
waterworks plant for the use of said
City and the citizens thereof and
in pursuance of a resolution of the
City Council of Camden, South Caro
lina, passed at a meeting of said
City Council on February 18th, 1913
ordering a special election; 'notice
is hereby given that there will be
a special election held In the City
of Camden,- on Tuesday, the 18th
day of March, 1913, on the ques
tion of issuing coupon bonds of the
City of Camden, South Carolina, to
the amount of ninety thousand dol
lars ($90,000.00), bearing Interest
at the rate of five per cent, per
annum, payable semi-annually, pay
able in any legal tender money. of
the United States forty (40) years
after date, with the privilege of re
demption after twenty (20) years
from date, said bonds' to be of a
denomination of one thousand dol
lars ($1,000.00) each, for the pur
pose of the establishment and own
ership by the City of Camden of a
waterworks plant for the use and
benefit of said City of Camden and
its citizens.
At said election all qualified reg
istered electors will be eleglbel to
vote, those electors favoring said
issue of bonds shall vote a ticket
on which there shall be printed the
wordB: "For Waterworks Bond Is
sue, $90,000.00";and those opposing
said issue of bonds shall vote a
ticket on which there shall be print
ed the words: "Against Water
works Bond Issue, ^90,000.00."
For the purpose of conducting
said election the polls shall be open
at the polling places In dach ward
at eight o'clock In the. morning and
shall close at four o'clock in the
afternoon.
