A Realization and an Appreciation
The Chronicle today announces the Greatest Circulation Contest ever attempted by a South Carolina newspaper in a town the size of Cam
den. Plans that have been based on the expenditure of hundreds of dollars and have called into consultation the best circulation advice in this
country have been fiifally matured and the details of the most magnificent offer that has been made to the people of Camden and vicinity is ready
for their consideration and verdict. Some time ago The Chronicle announced that it would award a piano to the lady receiving the highest num
ber of votes in the contest and while a few ambitious and popular ladies started out to win the one prize, The Chronicle soon realized that to make
the winning easier for the candidates and to make the enterprise worth while it would be necessary to add more prizes and to call into consultation
experienced men in this line of promotion. To this end The Chronicle has, at a high price, arranged for the most thorough contest system of re
cording and tabulating to be had in this country, and in this manner is showing its appreciation for the loyal support its readers and friends have
accorded it in the past. \
